Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong has addressed moves by the minority in parliament to drag him before the Privileges Committee for allegedly describing the Legislature as “useless”.
The Minority caucus described the MP’s attitude as one which is unbecoming of a member of the house, saying his comment in the media repeatedly brings the name of Parliament into disrepute.

Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarack said parliament now had evidence that Mr Agyapong called Parliament ‘useless’ and he will push for him to be dragged before the Privileges Committee.
“He said on his own network and called Parliament foolish, in Twi [Akan]. We can’t sit and allow a Member of Parliament to do that”, the Minority Chief Whip said.

“He has crossed the line and I am going to raise it; he must be referred to the Privileges [Committee] and he must be brought to book,” Mr Mubarak added in an earlier interview with Joy News’ Joseph Opoku Gapko.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, “Dwaso Nsem”, the politician said he will only apologize to parliament after he is done defending his statement.
“I am not God. If I have offended, yes I can apologize but I will come there and defend everything I have said…” he told host Kofi Adoma.
