The facility is aimed at providing quality healthcare to the residents and children of Trotor Baptist School and Orphanage.

According to the Director of Marketing and Corporate Relations for Barclays Bank Ghana, Nana Essilfuah Boison, some years back, Barclays Bank and Blavo and Co Solicitors visited the orphanage and managers of the facility made a passionate appeal for a clinic in the community.

Nana Essilfuah Boison said her outfit was moved by the fact that, there were no regular vehicles plying the long narrow lane to the main road.

She said a number of lives had been lost due to delays in carrying patients with cases like labour and snake bites through the Koforidua-Suhum road for vehicle to a hospital.

“In 2006, a colleague drew our attention to the Trotor Baptist School and Orphange Complex. Following engagements, they indicated the urgent need for boys’ bathhouse. At the handing over ceremony, the school made a passionate appeal for a clinic.

“The team’s heart was moved by the fact that they were faced with so many challenges,” she said.

She indicated that Barclays raised funds from different sources to build the clinic for the community.
