A team from Electroland Ghana limited, sole distributors of Samsung, Nasco and Midea in Ghana, over the weekend donated assorted items to the Nuurul UsmamIyyah Foundation for Humanitarian Service at Fadama.
Marketing Supervisor of Electroland, Adisa Ibrahim in an interview with Citi News after the donation said the gesture was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility, and since it was in the month of Ramadan, the foundation was a suitable choice.
“This is a gesture for our second quarter social responsibility under the Electroland Foundation, the “bring home happiness foundation. As much as we are a business entity we take a great deal in giving back to society. Once it fell within the Ramadan we decided to pick an Arabic school that needed support, and push. This organization needs to thrive, because the children here are trained ,educated and disciplined, so I would encourage everyone to come on board whether little or more for them to grow and for the greater good of the country.”
Chairman for the Foundation Abubakar Shafui also thanked the team for the gesture.
“Electroland has done a great job and the children are very happy, we are going to make sure the items are put into good useWe have been under the Ministry of Gender for over 15 years but we can’t single out one thing the ministry has done for us. We think it’s time others come on board because if he gets tired then the foundation will collapse. We built the makaranta to support the affairs of the national Chief Imam, because when he has an occasion or visitation, the children from the orphanage read the Koran and head the affairs of the program.”
The team then paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Dr.Osman Nuhu Sharubutu who called on Muslims to diligently observe the fast in the month of Ramadan to reap the attendant blessings from Allah.
The Chief Imam asked Muslims to abide by all the tenets of the religion as they observe the holy month.
The foundation consists of both an Arabic school and an orphanage. It houses about 700 children, who have graduated from the tertiary and secondary school and is overseen by Mallam Issah.
The foundation has been signed on to the Department of Social Welfare which is under the Ministry for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
