The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Petroleum Agency (NPA), Alhassan Tampuli has called on gas service stations to be rest assured that government will work to protect their interest.
Speaking at the 2nd edition of the Safety Week of the Association of Oil Marketing (AOMC), the CEO said his outfit is working to protect the interests of consumers and the gas stations as well.
“Nobody is aiming at crippling your businesses…hold me personally responsible if your businesses collapse…,” he said.

His assurance is in response to the national strike by gas service stations to protest the cylinder re-circulation module.
Mr Tampuli also said the NPA is undertaking a number of activities to ensure safety at all times.
Some of the activities, he mentioned are door to door campaigns, engaging stakeholders and collaborating with the DVLA to ensure that the licensing framework works.
He further stated that the major activity they are embarking on in close collaboration with stakeholders is the implementation of the cylinder re-circulation module.

The NPA, he said is done with seven regions.
Low risk stations will remain to do auto gas dispensing whiles high risk stations will be converted into and outlet
There have been reports of shortage of gas in various areas as a result of the strike.
Mr Tampuli however assured that implementation of the module is not geared towards collapsing the businesses of gas stations.
He thus called on Togbui Adaku and the members of the the Ghana LPG operators association to consider their decision to embark on strike.
