Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper says the free-for-all fight between some police and military personnel on Wednesday, 16 May is dangerous for the image of national security.
Describing the incident as unfortunate, Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako Jnr said those involved should be dealt with ruthlessly.
“They have violated the laws and therefore what needs to be done is to punish them, using the law. There is both the civil law and the military law which can be applied. It’s an unfortunate incident and dangerous for our national security” he said on Accra based Metro TV Thursday.

A brawl ensued after a group of army personnel in the region went on rampage, attacking police officers for attempting to arrest a military officer whose wife had lodged a complaint with the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit.
The actions resulted in a free-for-all fight, injuring about eight police officers in the process.

Reports say the military men decided to beat up any police officer in sight including cops stationed at various banks.
Speaking on the incident, the Ace journalist wondered why the Military personnel and the police who have been empowered by the laws of the land will engage in such acts when they are the ones to enforce the laws.

“Their job is to protect the lives of citizens and therefore there is no excuse whatsoever for doing what they did. They need to be punished and taught a lesson because we can’t accept impunity from our security personnel”, he warned.
