Asking me to apologise for my intention to contest Nyantakyi is joke of the century – George Afriyie

-

He made this statement following the Western Regional RFA Chairman, Kojo Yankah’s remarks that he (George Afriyie) should render an unqualified apology to the CAF 1st vice president and the Executive Committee for his declaration.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show,Afriyie said “Telling me to apologize for declaring my intention is the joke of the century.”
“I feel so sorry for president Nyantakyi because there are so many fake people around him.”
“The only person who genuinely likes President Nyantakyi is Ibrahim Saani Daara”,he added.
George Afriyie was relieved off his duties as GFA vice president following an Executive Committee meeting last week.
The decision comes barely a month after  Afriyie declared that he was the best person to succeed GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, who has indicated he does not intend to seek re-election when the FA goes to the polls in 2019.
Afriyie was appointed GFA Vice President in 2015 after Nyantakyi won the presidency for a third term.
He was later made the Management Committee Chairman of the senior national team, the Black Stars until last month when he was replaced by Winfred Osei Kwaku Palmer.
