Acting General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said that Unity Walks being organized by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is inspired by former President John Mahama.
John Boadu believes the Unity Walk is a waste of time, energy and very cheap propaganda by the NDC.
“A party that claims to be united, how can you organise a unity walk. It’s just a cheap propaganda and very clear that they are embarking on this walk because of Mahama and nothing else,” he said on Accra based Okay FM.

The largest opposition party started embarking on the walk after its defeat in the 2016 general elections.
The party has so far embarked on the walk in several regions including Central, Upper West and Northern regions.
Ex- President John Mahama and some party executives address the gatherings.
The walk has been seen as one of the main activities to help reorganize the NDC and unify the grassroots of the party to help it recapture power in 2020.

But John Boadu in an interview urged the NDC to rather sit-up and address issues within the party.
The NDC, he noted should rather settle their problems at home before coming out to canvass for votes.

“When you are in opposition, you do so many weird things and that is what the NDC is doing now. Ghanaians should forgive the NDC for making unnecessary noise. Just think of settling your home issues,” he urged.
