Man killed for failing to pay GHC 8.00 Akpeteshi debt

A 60-year- old-man, Joseph Mensah, known as Blogger has been beaten to death for failing to pay an amount of GHC 8.00 owed a local gin (Akpeteshie) seller.
The incident happened at Awutu Bosom-Abena in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

Assemblyman for Ahentia- Bosom-Abena electoral area, Francis Yawvi told Adom News’ Kofi Adjei that the late Blogger had credited Akpeteshie to the tune of GHC 8.00 from one Kwabena Nkum’s wife but failed to pay on time.
According to the Assemblyman, attempts by Nkum to get the late Blogger to come and pay his debt however proved futile.

“Blogger went to the farm for Kwabena Nkum’s wife and was paid an amount of GHC 10.00. After taking the money, he was expected to come and pay the debt but he failed, so an angry Nkum asked him for the money when he came to his house to receive his pay…,” he said.
The late Blogger who was crippled in one leg however provoked his debtor when he claimed that he was the only person who owed money in Ghana.

An infuriated Nkum was said to have kicked the crippled debtor in one leg in the ensuing confusion leading him to lie down for close to 10 minutes before getting up.
Days later, Blogger complained of pain in the very leg which was kicked by Nkum and was rushed to the Awutu Breku Heath Center where he was admitted and later pronounced dead.
Awutu District Police Commander, ASP Johnson Hessey has confirmed that the Police is investigating the case.
