Asante Kotoko head coach, Paa Kwesi Fabian, has blamed the team’s defeat on the naivety and lack of creativity of his strikers.
The former Black Satellite coach said they had a game plan to mark each player based on the heights but his players lost concentration, especially in the second half.
“We shot ourselves in the foot because we had two clear chances to break the deadlock but failed, which was bad on our part,” Fabian lamented.
“I believe the defeat was down to naivety on our part. For AshantiGold’s first goal, the marking was not good. We had assigned every single player to a marker based on their height.
For the second goal, my players simply stood because they though the referee would whistle for an infringement after someone went down. I am very disappointed with this kind of play at this level of the game”, he told the press.
The result drops Kotoko to 6th place and they now face Ebusua Dwarfs in the week 6 fixture on Wednesday.
