Ghanaian highlife musician, Kofi Kinaata has described late highlife musician, Charles Kofi Amankwaa Mann popularly known as C.K Mann as a legend in the genre.
Speaking at the One Week Celebration of the man who is credited with several hit songs such as ‘Adwoa Yankee’, Kofi Kinaata said he was ‘one of the most respected musicians from the Western Region.’
The young artiste explained that he believed most of the current musicians could not attend the one-week celebration of the legendary highlife musician because of bad publicity of the event.
“Sometimes it’s the communication and publicity that is bad. Now we focus on social media so if the approach is low they won’t show up…,” he said.
He however said most of the musicians will turn up ‘when the funeral time is up, they would show up….’
According to the ‘Confession’ hitmaker, it is necessary for people to pay attention to social media to raise awareness to events.
C.K Mann died at GPHA Hospital in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana after battling an undisclosed illness. He was 83.
