Vice Chairman of Parliament’s Defense and Interior Committee, Collins Owusu Amankwaah is asking Minority in Parliament to stop what he describes as ’empty noise’ following the ratification of the Ghana-US military agreement.
He described as empty the Minority’s argument that Ghana’s sovereignty has been mortgaged after Parliament approved the Defence Corporation Agreement between Ghana and the United States.
The Manhyia North MP maintains that, the deal is in the interest of Ghana and will not put the lives of the citizenry at risk.

“The NDC should stop making noise because the deal will not put the lives of Ghanaians at risk. Why should they make noise over a deal that they even signed during their tenure of office? Those following them should stop wasting their time,” he said on Accra-based Okay FM.
Government has come under barrage of criticism for approving what the minority considered breach on the sovereignty of Ghanaians.
The United State government as part of the deal will expend $20 million on training and equipment on Ghana Armed Forces with Ghana.

American forces will also enjoy unfettered access to some key installations in Ghana as well whilst enjoying diplomatic immunity.
Angered by the action of government to push through the agreement, the Minority staged a walkout in parliament in disagreement.
But despite the protest, Majority in Parliament approved the agreement.
