New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Tema East has described as laughable claims that majority of them will lose their seats for approving the military agreement between Ghana and the United States of America.
Rather, Hon. Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover said their constituents will thank them for making such a sensitive military agreement public.

He was reacting to a prediction by Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho that majority of NPP MPs will lose their seats in the 2020 general elections.
He explained that, many of the constituents are angry with the Majority MPs who voted for the ratification of the controversial Defense Corporation Agreement.
Koku Anyidoho is certain the end of the Akufo-Addo government in 2020 will begin from Parliament.

But speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Monday, Hon. Titus Glover said the comment by Mr. Anyidoho is borne out of “hypocrisy and double standards”.
He said the NDC represented by the Minority in Parliament is just being hypocritical in its stance over the Ghana-US Military cooperation agreement.
The Tema East MP cited how the erstwhile NDC government in 2015 signed a similar agreement with the US Military but failed to bring it to Parliament for ratification to buttress his point.

Hon. Titus Glover noted that, government decided to bring the new agreement to the people’s representatives in the spirit of transparency.
He also added that, the military agreement with the US is nothing close to a military base as the NDC wants the populace to believe.
“The Akufo-Addo government will never sell Ghana’s sovereignty so please ignore the NDC; they are frustrated”, he said.
