Ghanaian Tema-based rapper, Yaa Pono, has expressed sadness towards the board of the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Following the VGMA board’s inability to include his album ‘Faster Than Gods’ into the ‘Album of the Year’ category, Yaa Pono disclosed that he was really pained to realize he was denied the nomination this year.
The Album of the year, according to the final list from the VGMA board had Stonebwoy’s Epistles of Mama, Mz Vee’s Daavi album, Ebony’s Bonified and lastly Sarkodie’s ‘Highest’ album respectively.

According to Yaa Pono, he holds no grudge against the VGMA board because he believes they have their favourite artistes readied for the awards.
“My team and my fans don’t have a problem with VGMA. They have their members. If I have a company producing rubber no one can tell them to manufacture metal. If I have done my best and the board says so I have no problem with them…”

Asked if he is hurt, the ‘Gbee Naabu’ hitmaker said “I have a heart; no matter what, you [I am] are a human being. My mom told me not to let anything worry for me seven minutes. So I think about it and move on…”.
This year’s edition of ‘Ponobiom Live In Concert’ will take place on Saturday, March 24 at the West Hills Mall at Weija in Accra.
