Akwesi Afriyie, a news anchor with Metro TV has been appointed the Communications Manager for Zoomlion.
The senior broadcast journalist replaces veteran Public Relations practitioner, Robert Coleman who has taken a long leave to complete other engagements.
Mr. Afriyie brings on board a wealth of experience from marketing, media and journalism backgrounds with interest in development issues, social issues, business and current affairs.

Kwasi Afriyie has reported from the length and breadth of the country on almost every sphere of the economy, experienced in news and other content productions, directing, visual editing among other things in the TV experience. He also wields a great deal of experience with radio.
Kwasi had his elementary and secondary education in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi. In his university days, Kwasi Afriyie, was involved in active student politics and served as a member of the university of Ghana parliament house UGPH, a member of the Mesah Sarbah hall JCR the Sarknesset, a representative on university of Ghana’s SRC and rose to become the president of the society for national affairs SoNA.
He started proper active journalism after doing his national service with the ministry of defense where he was further instilled with his discipline and principle oriented nature.  He worked with Net 2 and Oman FM as both radio and a TV reporter and presenter. He was an integral part of the team that begun Viasat one (now Kwese) News.
At Metro TV, Kwasi Afriyie has helped to increase the platform’s market share with his innovative ideas and professionalism. He anchors the station major events like budget presentation, State of the Nation Address etc. He is also sits in for the all popular Good \Morning Ghana Show hosted by Randy Abbey.  Mr. Afriyie is the producer and the anchor for the station’s flagship Business program, Business Edition.
He completed and briefly worked with TNS Global-KWP a marketing research company where he held the position of a senior research executive assessing the strength of fast moving consumer products in the country and reporting to clients.
Mr. Afriyie has acted as a PR/media consultant and worked on documentaries and other media works for several institutions including the National Youth Authority, Ghana Reinsurance, Midland Financial Services, University of Cape Coast and many others.
