The Metropolitan Chief Executive of Tema has described as unfounded and false, allegations that he demanded bribe from a waste management company to sign their contract.
Mr. Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La is said to have demanded 10 percent shares from NEHLSEN TUBA-TURBINE WTE SPV GHANA, company interested in generating power from waste collected in the metropolis before he signs the contract.

He is said to have also demanded an extra $38 million before he signs the project to generate 30MWh of energy from 600,000 tonnes of waste per year at Kpone in the Greater Accra region.
Evils Owusu-Adansi Jnr. who is the local representative of the waste company made the allegations on Adom FM’s anti-corruption segment show, Fabewoso Monday.

A statement signed by the management of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, has however denied all the allegations.
It explained that, their MCE did not sign the agreement because the Ministry of Local Government had in March 15, 2015 signed a similar WASTE-TO-ENERGY contract with AMERCH-AFRICA.
“We want to put on record that the Hon. MCE, Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La has not demanded, collected nor received any amount whether in cash or equity from NEHLSEN or any entity before he signs a contract”, the statement said.
