61-year-old man dies in tragic tipper truck accident in Aburi

A 61-year-old man, has died in a horrific accident at Aburi in the Eastern Region.

The incident occurred around 12:00 pm on Wednesday when a tipper truck driver, veered off the road and overturned.

The truck, registered as GT 3678-18, was carrying quarry dust and had two passengers on board.

The accident happened near the Aburi Total filling station as the truck descended a hill toward a newly developed community.

Asinyo reportedly lost control of the steering wheel, causing the truck to tip over onto its passenger side.

George Amoah sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

His body has been transported to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital mortuary in Mampong Akwapim for preservation and autopsy.

The driver, 30-year-old Michael Asinyo has been detained to assist with the investigation.
