Ghanaians especially the people in the media fraternity couldn’t hold back their tears when the news of the demise of Asempa FM’s Political Morning Show Host ”Ekosii Sen, Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong called in public circles as KABA broke out on Saturday morning, 18th, November 2018.
Tributes were poured in by colleagues, loved ones and heart-broken public figures on social media following the death of the ace broadcaster.
However, the cause of his sudden death is unclear, but reports says, he may have suffered some form of attack from a health condition. Ghanacrusader.com highlight six things Ghanaians didn’t know about KABA.
A former employee of Top Radio:
Prior to joining Multimedia Group, KABA had worked with Top Radio which is now rebranded as Top FM from 2004 to 2008. He has been with Asempa FM from 2008 to date.
He attended Cape Coast University/Ghana Institute of Journalism:
The late broadcaster enrolled at the University of Cape Coast as a trained teacher after which he went to the Ghana Institute of Journalism to read Diploma in Communication Studies. Later, he moved to the University of Ghana to study Political Science. Also, KABA had hosted Adom Television morning Show on Multi TV.
Married to a journalist
The late ace broadcaster is married to Valentina Ofori Afriyie. Both tied the knot in June 2016 at Santasi in Kumasi. Moreso, his wife is a broadcaster who works with an Accra based Class FM. He was among a group of selected senior journalists, who joined President Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House earlier this year to ask him questions about critical national issues.
The only child of his parents
The tough and towering journalist who lost his life following a short illness according to reports happens to be the only child of his parents.
Father is a Catechist
The Techiman-born broadcaster was born into a Christian Home. His father is a Catechist with the Presbyterian Church.
He has one daughter:
The late KABA who married last year to a colleague journalist left behind a daughter. He was also a strong anti-corruption campaigner who used his show to campaign against corruption.
