A third freed person from the Guantanamo Bay prisons has been spotted in Ghana.

Mohammed El Gharani came to Ghana on his own volition. He is currently in the country.

The 3rd Gitmo prisoner is said to be a close associate of the other two who are currently been hosted in the country.

Information available to Adomonline.com indicates that he was in the same cell with the other two in the Guantanamo Bay prison.

Mohammed El Gharani arrived in Ghana in 2011 and has since established himself as a resident of this country who is engaging in all forms of legal activities.

A friend to the Gitmo ex-detainee, Alhaji Sumalia Abdulai confirmed on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Friday that El Gharani has been in Ghana since 2011 and was the head of his bakery business.

Alhaji Abdulai who says he works on the Spintex Road said he became friends with El Gharani when the former approached him and sought to befriend him because he is a Muslim.

According to him, El Gharani introduced himself as a Muslim with Chadian roots but was born in Saudi Arabia. He said they have since remained closer friends and have been eating together.

Despite their closeness, it was lately that El Gharani started revealing his ‘true’ identity that he is a former detainee of the dreaded Guantanamo Bay prisons who was freed when found innocent.
