A tragic fire incident at Aboduabo in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality of the Western North Region has claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman, Sandra Danso.
The nursing mother reportedly lost her life when a fire engulfed a makeshift kiosk where she sold bottled petrol.
According to eyewitness Kwaku Acheampong, an electrician in the community, the fire started when petrol being sold by the deceased accidentally splashed onto a nearby open flame, causing a rapid escalation of the fire.
Efforts by residents to control the blaze proved unsuccessful.
Sandra was caught in the inferno and could not escape in time.
Narrating his side of the story, Elder David Boatey, the father of the deceased, said he was on his farm when he received a distressed call about the fire.
Unfortunately, by the time he rushed to the scene, everything had been consumed by the flames, including his daughter.
The charred remains of the young woman have since been retrieved, and investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
