2026 WCQ: Otto Addo expects tough test against Madagascar

-

Ghana coach Otto Addo has acknowledged the difficulty of their upcoming clash against Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars will face the Malagasy side on Monday in their Matchday 6 encounter at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium in Morocco.

Following a dominant 5-0 victory over Chad in Accra on Friday night, Addo emphasized the need for his team to shift focus quickly, as the Madagascar fixture promises to be a tougher challenge.

“First of all, I am happy that we won, also that we scored a lot of goals,” Addo said after the Chad match.

“But to be honest, we have to concentrate on Monday. It will be a different game. It will be much, much more difficult, and we are already thinking ahead of that game,” he added.

Ghana’s emphatic win propelled them to the top of Group I with 12 points, maintaining a two-point lead over second-placed Madagascar.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars squad, along with the technical team, has departed for Morocco, where they will seek a crucial victory to strengthen their position in the group.
