2026 WCQ: Black Stars urged to approach Chad clash with caution

-

Ghana football legend Asamoah Gyan has urged the Black Stars to approach their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad with caution.

The four-time African champions will face The Sao in a crucial Matchday 5 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium tonight.

Speaking ahead of the game, Gyan acknowledged the threat Chad could pose and emphasized the need for focus.

“Football has changed, and we have to change our mindset. Chad will be a tough game, but what we have to do now is win to get the confidence back,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

He also stressed the importance of taking the match seriously while remaining wary of their opponents.

“We have to approach this game with all seriousness, and by that, the fans will rally behind you. But we must also be cautious because it won’t be easy,” he added.

After the Chad match, the Black Stars will travel to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24, for their Matchday 6 fixture.

Ghana’s senior national team is determined to bounce back after their disappointing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign, where they failed to secure a single victory.
