2026 WCQ: Black Stars ready for Chad, Madagascar – Sports Minister

-

Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ psychological and physical readiness as they prepare to face Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Following their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the four-time African champions are regrouping for the first time this year, aiming to strengthen their chances of securing a spot at the World Cup.

In an interview with 3Sports, Kofi Adams urged Ghanaians to rally behind the team, assuring them of positive results.

“I want to call on Ghanaians to support the team. I know we’re going to win both games,” he said.

“The players are well energized, well prepared and psychologically I believe they are ready for both games. We’re ready for the two matches and we will win,” he added.

Ghana will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before traveling to Morocco to take on Madagascar on Monday, March 24.

Meanwhile, the team has officially opened camp in Accra, with their first training session set to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Currently, Ghana is tied with Comoros on nine points in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers.
