2025 will be a prosperous year for Ghana football – GFA

The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum is optimistic that 2025 will bring success to Ghana football, despite recent setbacks.

His comments come after the Black Stars’ disappointing failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be held in Morocco later this year.

The Black Stars finished at the bottom of Group F in the qualifiers, securing only three points from three draws and three defeats.

Ghana’s football struggles deepened when the Black Galaxies also missed out on qualification for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) after losing to Nigeria.

Despite these challenges, Asante Twum highlighted some positive moments and remains hopeful about the future of football in the country.

“The year 2024 was a bad year for our football. The Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON tournament and the Black Galaxies also failed to qualify for the CHAN tournament,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

“The Black Satellites and Black Princesses made us proud but I believe that the year 2025 will be a good year for our football.

“The Black Stars is trying to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and we hope that will be achieved,” he added.
