Bia East Member of Parliament (MP) Richard Acheampong has said the Finance Minister’s 2025 budget presentation will be well-received by Ghanaians.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, the MP expressed confidence that the budget will contain promising policies and programs that will benefit various groups, including the youth, women, and the business community.

“The votes President Mahama secured were not for nothing; expectations are high, so much needs to be done. Even though the economy is not in a good place, we are committed to not disappointing Ghanaians. Our actions will reflect the will of the people,” he stated.

Ahead of the budget presentation on Tuesday, March 11, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has engaged different sections of the public, including market women and kayayei at Makola Market, to discuss their concerns and expectations.

Accompanied by his deputy, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, the discussions focused on key economic challenges affecting small-scale traders, including inflation, taxation, and access to credit.

Dr. Forson assured them that their concerns would be considered in shaping the upcoming budget.

Meanwhile, former Information Minister and Ofoase-Ayirebi MP, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, stated that the Minority expects the government to fulfill its promise to scrap taxes and provide clarity on the implementation of key policies like the 24-hour economy.
