2025 AFCONQ: We will work on our finishing – Otto Addo

-

Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, has assured that the team will improve their finishing ahead of the second leg of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

In the first leg, Ghana played to a goalless draw against Sudan, squandering multiple scoring opportunities despite a solid overall performance.

While the team displayed strong defensive discipline and determination, they were unable to convert chances into goals.

Following the match, Addo acknowledged the team’s difficulties in finishing and expressed his commitment to enhancing their attacking strategy before the return leg, set for Tuesday, October 15.

“Surely, we will try to train on finishing and give them confidence, that’s all,” he said.

“This was the only thing which was missing. The spirit was good, the passion was there, the defensive discipline was there, they’re just about to finish the action, that’s all,” he added.

The return match will take place at the Martyrs of February Stadium, kicking off at 13:00 GMT.

Currently, Ghana is positioned third in their group with two points after three matches, making a win essential for improving their chances of qualifying for next year’s tournament in Morocco.
