2025 AFCONQ: Thomas Partey praises Otto Addo ideas and coaching prowess

-

Thomas Partey has praised Black Stars coach Otto Addo, describing him as having the best ideas for the team.

Addo, who led Ghana to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, was reappointed in March on a 34-month contract with an option for an additional 24 months.

Since his return, the Black Stars have secured consecutive victories over Mali and the Central African Republic in the third and fourth matchdays of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, reigniting Ghana’s hopes for qualification after a challenging start.

As the Black Stars prepare for their opening matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Partey has expressed high praise for Addo’s coaching abilities.

“He [Otto Addo] has his ideas and he makes it very clear and he makes sure everyone knows what he wants to do and he translates that to the players and the technical team are always ready to help him so I think he is on a good journey and he is the one we have to look up to because he has experience, he has played in this team and he know everything around the team and knows what the team need and we have to follow him because he has the best idea,” Partey told SuperSport.

Ghana will face Angola in their first Group F match later today at the Baba Yara Stadium, and then travel to Berkane to play Niger on Monday, September 9, in their second Group F encounter.
