2025 AFCONQ: Thomas Partey dropped as Otto Addo announces 25-man squad for Angola, Niger games

-

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has unveiled a 25-man squad for Ghana’s crucial final qualifier matches against Angola and Niger later this month.

The announcement was made Thursday afternoon at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Conference Room.

Notable absentees from the squad include Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, who missed the previous doubleheader against Sudan, and AS Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu, who has also been left out.

The squad includes three players from the Ghana Premier League: Isaac Afful (FC Samartex), Emmanuel Antwi (Asante Kotoko), and Razak Simpson (Nations FC).

Addo has named a strong contingent of senior players, including Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, and Jordan Ayew, all of whom are set to play key roles in the upcoming matches.

The Black Stars will face Angola in Luanda on November 15 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, followed by a home fixture against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18.

Ghana, currently 3rd in Group F with just two points after four matches, must secure victories in both games and hope for Sudan to lose to both Niger and Angola to have any chance of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
