Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has voiced his frustration regarding the Black Stars disappointing performance in the ongoing qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The senior national team, aiming for their fifth continental title, had a rocky start, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium, followed by a 1-1 draw against Niger in Berkane.
This lacklustre beginning has left the team in third place with only one point from two matches.
In an address to the squad ahead of their upcoming doubleheader against Sudan, Okraku emphasized the need for a change in attitude and urged the players to demonstrate greater aggression in their play.
“I hope this will be the last time I appeal to your hearts and consciences. We must revive the indomitable fighting spirit of the Black Stars,” he stated.
“The honeymoon period is over. It’s time to show aggression, desire, and the willingness to go the extra mile for Ghana.”
The Black Stars are set to face the Sudanese Falcons in the first leg of their doubleheader on Thursday, October 10, at 16:00 GMT, before travelling to Libya for the return match on Monday, October 14, at the Martyrs of February Stadium.
