Sudan head coach, Kwesi Appiah, is determined to lead his team to victory over Ghana in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
In the first leg of the doubleheader qualifiers, Sudan managed to hold the Black Stars to a 0-0 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium last Thursday.
The teams are set for the return match, which will take place at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya on Tuesday, October 15, with kick-off at 13:00 GMT.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Coach Appiah acknowledged Ghana’s strengths but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure a win.
“It is not going to be easy, but Insha Allah, we are going to fight and make sure we get a victory for Sudan,” said the former Black Stars coach.
Historically, Ghana’s record against Sudan has been balanced, with three wins and three losses in their last six matches on Sudanese soil.
The most recent encounter between the two sides ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat for Ghana, with Sudanese forward Mohamed Abdel Raman scoring a late winner.
Currently, the Black Stars are third in Group F with two points from three games.
Otto Addo and his men need a win against Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan to improve their chances of qualifying for the AFCON tournament, which will be held in Morocco.
