2025 AFCONQ: Sudan arrive in Ghana ahead of Black Stars clash

-

The first batch of the Sudanese national team has arrived in Ghana ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Black Stars.

Led by former Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah, the initial group touched down in the West African nation on Sunday night.

The rest of the team is set to arrive from Saudi Arabia later today and will be led by national team manager Mr Abubakar Al-Mahy.

Sudan began their qualification campaign with a victory against Niger but faced a setback with a 2-1 loss to Angola, placing them second in the group with three points.

Despite this, Appiah is focused on securing a win against Ghana to improve their qualification prospects.

Sudan will conduct their final training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday evening in preparation for the first leg, which kicks off on Thursday at 16:00 GMT on October 10.

The return match will take place on October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
