2025 AFCONQ: Semenyo, Thomas Asante and others arrive at Black Stars camp for Angola, Niger games

The Black Stars have officially begun their training camp in Accra as they prepare for their first two matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ghana will face Angola and Niger this month as part of the qualification process for the upcoming AFCON tournament, which will be hosted in Morocco.

Last Thursday, head coach Otto Addo announced his squad for the two crucial games, calling up key players such as Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, and Thomas Partey.

By Sunday night, seven players had already reported to the Black Stars’ camp in anticipation of the team’s first training session. The early arrivals include Tariq Lamptey, Joseph Wollacott, Ibrahim Osman, Jonas Adjetey, Antoine Semenyo, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Frederick Asare.

More squad members are expected to join the camp on Monday morning, with coach Otto Addo set to lead the team’s first training session later that evening at the Accra Sports Stadium. Afterwards, the team will travel to Kumasi for their match on Tuesday.

Ghana is scheduled to play Angola on Thursday, September 5, followed by a match against Niger on September 9 in Berkane.
