Ghana forward, Brandon Thomas-Asante has expressed the team’s ambition to secure victories in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

The Black Stars, who are in pursuit of their fifth continental championship, will face Angola’s Palancas Negras in their opening match at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, September 5.

Following that, they will head to Berkane, where they will play Niger on neutral ground in their second Group F match on September 9.

Ahead of these crucial fixtures, Thomas-Asante, who plays for Coventry City, emphasized their focus on winning the first two games.

“Just like last time, we won our first two matches, and we aim to do the same again. We remain confident and focused as we prepare for the next challenge,” the 24-year-old stated.

The Black Stars conducted a training session with 22 players at the Baba Yara Stadium on Tuesday, with their final session scheduled for later today. Elisha Owusu and Jordan Ayew are the only players yet to join the camp.

Kick-off for the game is scheduled at 16:00GMT.
