2025 AFCONQ: Otto Addo urges Black Stars to show passion against Sudan

-

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged his players to display greater enthusiasm when they face Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers next month.

Ghana is set to play Sudan in a doubleheader during matchdays three and four of Group F. The first match will be held at a venue yet to be determined on October 7, with the return leg scheduled for October 15 at the Al-Merrikh Stadium.

Speaking at a CAF seminar on Thursday, Addo emphasized the need for his team to demonstrate more passion, which he felt was missing in their previous game against Niger.

“I think the biggest thing is we show passion this was lacking in the game against Niger we have to bring this passion back and the field,” the 45-year-old said.

“Besides all the tactics and the quality we have to show the passion especially defensively and the intensity defensively to beat this team and if we show it everything is possible and we take points from there,” he added.

Ghana has struggled in their initial matches of the qualifiers, with a 1-0 loss to Angola and a 1-1 draw against Niger. Currently, the Black Stars are third in their group with just one point.
