2025 AFCONQ: Otto Addo to name Black Stars squad for Angola, Niger games today

-

Black Stars coach Otto Addo is set to announce his squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Angola and Niger at a press conference later today.

This information was confirmed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in an announcement made on the official X page of the Black Stars on Wednesday evening.

The announcement stated, “Our Head Coach Otto Addo will address the media this Thursday, August 29th, at noon to reveal the squad for our upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.”

The squad announcement will take place in the Conference Room of the Ghana FA.

Otto Addo’s selection for the matches against Angola and Niger is anticipated to include top players such as Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey, and Jordan Ayew.

However, reports suggest that no players from the Ghana Premier League will be included in the squad.

Meanwhile, Ernest Nuamah and Forson Amankwah are expected to be left out of the squad for the games.

The Black Stars are hoping to continue their impressive performance against Angola and Niger having recorded back-to-back wins against Mali and Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June earlier this year.

Ghana will face Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 5, before travelling to Niger for the second Group F match four days later.
