Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has unveiled a 23-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Ghana will host Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 5 before travelling to play Niger on September 9 in Morroco.
The senior national team last played together in June, where they achieved back-to-back wins over Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Players are expected to report by Monday, September 2, 2024, to begin preparations for the AFCON qualifiers, which are scheduled for September 5 in Kumasi and September 10 in Berkane.
Otto Addo’s selection is largely consistent with previous squads, featuring key players like Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku. Notable returns include Inaki Williams and Majeed Ashimeru, who were absent in the last matches, while Frederick Asare of Asante Kotoko is the only locally-based player included.
Meanwhile, captain Andre Ayew and Daniel Amartey have been left out of the squad.
