After three winless matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Black Stars coach Otto Addo is determined to secure a victory against Sudan.
Ghana will face the Falcons in the second leg of their doubleheader on Matchday four. All is set for Tuesday afternoon at the Martyrs of February Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the game, the 45-year-old coach expressed his hope that luck would be on Ghana’s side to earn a crucial three points.
Addo emphasized that the team had been unfortunate not to secure wins against Angola and Sudan in their last two matches.
“I’m very satisfied with the training. I think the boys adapted well. They’re already willing to show what they can, and he had to make the last result out of their heads. And I think it’s obvious that we need goals,” he said.
“We created a lot of chances against Angola. We deserve to win this game. We didn’t play well against Niger in the last game. Yeah, I think we also deserve to win. Very unlucky. But there’s a speech in German, I think English is three times lucky.
“So, I think we have two good games with Angola, and also our last game with Sudan at home. And this is the third game now, and when we play the way we played the last game, we will be able to win,” he added.
Currently, Ghana sits third in their group with two points from two draws and one loss. A win against Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan is essential to keep their qualification hopes alive.
The highly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at 13:00 GMT.
