2025 AFCONQ: I am pained – Otto Addo after Black Stars’ 0-0 draw with Sudan

-

Ghana coach, Otto Addo has voiced his frustration following the Black Stars’ goalless draw against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

In Thursday’s match at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana hosted the Falcons in the first leg of their doubleheader qualifier.

Despite dominating play, the Black Stars were unable to find the back of the net, leaving the four-time African champions in a challenging position.

After the match, the 45-year-old coach expressed his disappointment during a press conference.

“The chances were there today but this is football,” he said.

“This result even pains more than the results against Niger and Angola because I think we deserve to win but I am disappointed,” he added.

Ghana will now face Libya in the return leg on Monday, October 14, at the Martyrs of February Stadium, where a win is crucial to improve their qualification prospects for the tournament, which will take place in Morocco.

The Black Stars currently sit third in Group F with just two points after three games.
