2025 AFCONQ: Ghana to host Angola at Baba Yara Stadium in September

-

The Black Stars will begin their campaign in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers with a match against Angola at Baba Yara Stadium.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the fixture on Tuesday.

The match is set for Thursday, September 5, 2024, with kickoff at 16:00 hours.

Following this, the Black Stars will travel to Niger for their second Group F match on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Building on their recent success, where they secured consecutive victories in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic, the Black Stars are eager to maintain their winning form.

Ghana is placed in Group F alongside Sudan, Angola, and Niger. The top two teams from this group will advance to the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next year.

Under the guidance of Otto Addo, the Black Stars are aiming to secure a spot in this prestigious tournament, seeking to add to their previous titles won in 1963, 1965, 1978, and 1982.
