Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has confirmed that Elisha Owusu might miss Ghana’s opening match in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola.
The AJ Auxerre midfielder arrived late to the team’s camp ahead of Thursday’s game.
In a pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Addo addressed the issue of late arrivals, specifically mentioning Owusu and Jordan Ayew.
Regarding Owusu, Addo expressed uncertainty about the player’s availability due to a muscle issue, saying, “I hope they’ll be okay, especially Elisha, who has some muscle problems.
“After training, the doctor will assess their condition and see how they feel. There’s a bit of a question mark, particularly with Elisha,” he added.
The match is set to begin at 16:00 GMT at Baba Yara Stadium. Ghana is striving to secure one of the top two spots in Group F to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
