2025 AFCONQ: Black Stars to open camp on Monday for Sudan games

-

The Black Stars will begin camping on Monday as they prepare for crucial matches against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The team will compete in a doubleheader against Sudan in the matchday three and four games with the first match taking place on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, followed by the return fixture in Libya on Monday, October 14.

Coach Otto Addo has named a 25-man squad for the upcoming fixtures on Friday for the game.

Notable inclusions in the squad are Alexander Djiku and Ernest Numah, both of whom return after missing the September qualifiers due to injuries.

Atalanta midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has also made a comeback after recovering from an injury.

Gideon Mensah, who recently returned to action with Auxerre after a 72-day absence, is also part of the lineup.

Additionally, FC Samartex defender Isaac Afful has received his first call-up to the national team.

Following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Angola and a 1-1 draw against Niger, the Black Stars, who sit 3rd in Group F are determined to secure victories against Sudan to improve their chances of qualifying for the tournament.
