2025 AFCONQ: Black Stars players understand the situation ahead of Sudan games – GFA

-

Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum believes the Black Stars players are well aware of the importance of securing a victory against Sudan.

Following a disappointing start to their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, the Black Stars are gearing up for a crucial doubleheader against Sudan, coached by former Ghana manager Kwesi Appiah.

Speaking ahead of the games, Asante Twum emphasized the professionalism of the players and their commitment to winning, which is vital for improving their chances of qualification.

He noted that, the players recent performances at their clubs will provide a significant advantage for the national team.

“The performance of our players at their respective clubs will work to our advantage against Sudan,” he told Asempa FM‘s Ultimate Sports Show.

“This is international football, but we are confident because these are international players, and they understand the situation,” he added.

Coach Otto Addo and his team are focused on capturing all six points from the two matches following a narrow 1-0 loss to Angola and a 1-1 draw against Niger.

The first match of the doubleheader will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, while the return leg is scheduled for October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
