Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has expressed his dissatisfaction about the uninspiring performance of the Black Stars against Niger.
After losing 1-0 to Angola in their opening games of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, the Black Stars were hoping to secure their first win of the qualifying game.
However, after taking the lead through Alidu Seidu, the Super Eagles left it late after Oumar Sako equalized to end the game in a stalemate.
The results leave the Black Stars at the 3rd spot with just a point after two games.
Speaking to Akoma FM in an interview, Asante Twum said he could not believe how poor the Black Stars played in that game.
However, he noted that he does not believe the idea that the current Black Stars players lack commitment.
“I do not buy the ideology that these players are not committed, I’ve not recovered from the shock. I cannot believe how poor we were on the day and how ordinary the team was in our game against Niger,” Henry Asante Twum said.
The Black Stars will clash with Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan in a doubleheader in the matchday three and four games in October.
Ghana will host the Falcon in the first leg with a yet-to-be-decided venue before travelling for the return leg at the Al-Merrikh Stadium.
