The Black Stars of Ghana have officially begun preparations today for their upcoming matches against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Last Friday, head coach Otto Addo named a 25-man squad for the crucial doubleheader against the Falcons of Sudan. The selected players are expected to report to the team’s camp at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
So far, four players—Antoine Semenyo, Elisha Owusu, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Jojo Wollacott—arrived at the camp on Sunday night. Additionally, Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare and FC Samartex defender Isaac Afful are expected to join the squad this morning.
The team will hold their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium today at 16:30 GMT, with fans allowed to attend.
However, Tuesday and Wednesday’s sessions will be closed to the public.
Otto Addo and his squad are determined to claim all six points against Sudan after a challenging start to the qualifiers, having drawn against Niger and suffered a defeat to Angola in their first two matches.
The first leg of the Sudan clash will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, with the return leg scheduled for October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
