The Black Stars wrapped up their final training session on Sunday ahead of their second group match in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Niger, set for Monday.
Coach Otto Addo’s team is seeking to secure their first win of the qualifiers, following a 1-0 defeat to Angola last Thursday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
A total of 22 players participated in the Sunday session. However, defender Jerome Opoku of Istanbul Basaksehir withdrew from the squad due to injury, while LA Galaxy winger Joseph Paintsil is also expected to miss the match due to passport-related issues.
Among those training were goalkeepers Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Joseph Wollacott, and Frederick Asare, as well as defenders Alidu Seidu, Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu, and Abdul Mumin.
Key midfielders and attackers like Fatawu Issahaku, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, and Elisha Owusu—who all featured in the starting lineup against Angola—were also present.
Majeed Ashimeru, Forson Amankwah, Inaki Williams, Kingsley Schindler, and Brandon Thomas-Asante, who came off the bench in the previous match, completed the session along with Jonas Adjetey, Ibrahim Osman, Ebenezer Annan, and Abu Francis.
The Black Stars will take on Niger at the Municipal Sports Complex in Berkane, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
