Communications Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Charles Amofa has assured that the Baba Yara Stadium will be fully prepared to host the Black Stars’ upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
The stadium, Ghana’s sole venue approved for CAF and FIFA sanctioned matches is in disrepair following a recent five-day event held there.
Addressing these concerns, Amofa confirmed that the venue will be ready in time for the crucial matches.
He emphasized the NSA’s commitment to restoring the pitch to its optimal condition within the next 15 working days.
“AFCON is just around the corner, and we have a month to prepare. I can assure the general public that we will restore the pitch to normalcy,” Amofa told Peace FM.
Amofa also highlighted the NSA’s ongoing efforts, saying, “Sports Authority we work from Sunday to Sunday pitch management people everyday they are here we are doing fertilization, we are doing watering we are doing everything that work has been given to us by the government.”
Ghana is set to face Angola on September 5th at the Baba Yara Stadium in their Group F opener, followed by an away match against Niger on September 9th.
