The Electoral Commission (EC) has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring free and fair elections, highlighting its established record of credibility and transparency in managing Ghana’s electoral process.
This assurance was given in response to concerns raised by some political parties and stakeholders ahead of the 2024 general elections.
During an IPAC meeting on Tuesday, October 1, EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa, emphasized the Commission’s commitment to upholding democratic principles.
She noted that the EC has successfully overseen numerous elections, gaining the trust of both Ghanaians and the international community.
“We have a proven track record of delivering credible elections, and we are resolute in ensuring that the 2024 elections will be no different,” she stated.
Jean Mensa also assured the public that measures have been put in place to address concerns surrounding the voter register and election preparations.
The EC urged political parties and the public to continue collaborating with the commission to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process, while welcoming constructive feedback to further strengthen Ghana’s democracy.
