Former President, John Agyekum Kufuor has called for a peaceful and violence-free 2024 general election, urging Ghanaians to respect the outcome of the polls.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, November 17, Mr Kufuor underscored the importance of maintaining calm during the voting process to safeguard Ghana’s democracy.
He emphasized that unity and peace should prevail before, during, and after the elections.
“It is essential for everyone to line up calmly and exercise their voting rights on election day. Electoral violence is unacceptable, and I hope for a peaceful election process,” he said.
The former President reminded citizens that ultimate power rests with the people, emphasizing the need to accept results, regardless of personal preferences.
“We must acknowledge that genuine power resides with the populace. I urge all participants to prioritize peace during this election,” he added.
