The running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has embarked on a campaign tour through several markets in Accra.
Her tour began at the Mallam Market in the Ayawaso Central Constituency, where she engaged with traders, commercial drivers, and head porters (Kayayei).
During these interactions, Professor Opoku-Agyemang emphasized the NDC’s commitment to women-centred policies, particularly the proposed establishment of a Women’s Development Bank.
The purpose of the bank is to provide capital for women-owned businesses to help nurture and grow them.
Prof. Opoku Agyemang emphasized the importance of women entrepreneurs having access to capital, stating that the bank would provide credit to small-scale businesses.
This initiative, part of the NDC’s broader strategy to empower female entrepreneurs and business owners, seeks to enhance economic opportunities and financial security for women nationwide.
