2024 Polls: Presidential candidates to ballot for positions today

The Electoral Commission (EC) will hold the balloting for the 2024 presidential candidates today, Friday, September 20, 2024, at 4 PM at its headquarters.

This event is significant to determine the order in which candidates names will appear on the ballot paper for the December 7 elections.

This balloting follows the EC’s release of the official list of qualified candidates.

Out of 24 presidential hopefuls, 13 have been cleared to participate in the race.

Among the prominent contenders are John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan Kyerematen, and Nana Kwame Bediako.

Despite the approvals, several candidates were disqualified, including Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Janet Nabla of the People’s National Party (PNP).

Other disqualified candidates include Nana Stephens Adjepong, Paul Perkoh, and James Kwesi Oppong.
