Private legal practitioner and National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team member, Twum Barima, has emphasized the need for peaceful elections.
He stated that no one should lose their life for a political party to win power.
In an interview on Adom TV’s morning show Badwam, Mr. Barima stressed the party’s commitment to ensuring violence-free elections.
“No one deserves to die because of elections. The John Mahama-led NDC does not support election-related deaths for power,” he said.
Barima accused security agencies of mishandling their responsibilities during the 2020 elections, leading to fatalities, and urged them to avoid a repeat.
He further called on security agencies to act responsibly.
“They were the cause of the deaths four years ago. This time, we don’t want to see you killing the people you are supposed to protect. We will hold security officers accountable for any mayhem during the elections,” he warned.
